Now let's explore the use of real options in medical intervention development. As a first step, we will construct a "real options" development plan based on the classically well-known clinical drug development phases. We will concentrate on optimizing the clinical development process up until market authorization as after phase 3 income is generated. De-risking the development therefore focusses primarily on phase 1-3 up until market authorization.
