More graduates!
Just a quick note to celebrate everybody passed the exam and to celebrate almost 90% class completion! Well done! According to some recent studies, completion rates for the majority of online courses are disappointingly low at just 13%. So we are really happy to see our courses reach these high completion rates. Thank you for your suggestions for further improvement, contributions and creativity in the development outlines of the case studies. I really enjoyed this edition of the online course with such active participation from a great group of participants. We’ll kick off the on campus course of the module with a group discussion about the 4 case studies. I will ask some of you to briefly present the case, based on your uploaded preparatory assignment. If you have not yet registered for the on-campus part, please contact me or sign up directly on our site. The same goes for those of you who want to be part of the extended on-campus course to develop your own clinical protocol with an expert in your field as your personal mentor. “Upgrades” are easily registered on our site. Don’t miss out on these more interactive, in depth on-campus sessions. Previous participants rated the on-campus course with a 4.8 out of 5!
Futurelab alumna Meta Roestenberg recently authored an article on reducing uncertainty in clinical vaccine development where I contributed to demonstrate the added value and impact of validated methodology to answer a key question in development. It features a QOC analysis for the malaria case described by Meta. If you have research you want to discuss, suggestion for relevant case studies for Futurelab or ideas for publishing this type of work, please let me know. Real life cases are vital for the development of our curriculum so it would be great to see our alumni contribute!
Finally, our Nature Biotech paper about Question Based Development and project valuation using real options and the QOC is published! Check it out here!!
Thanks again! See you soon,
