COVID-19 vaccines

When it was becoming clear that COVID-19, the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, was reaching pandemic proportions, all relevant stakeholders facilitated the development of a vaccine in the belief that such a vaccine would serve as a major tool in ending the pandemic. Thus, vaccine developers were soon competing to take the lead in the race to develop the first effective vaccine.
