COVID vaccine Vaxzevria – benefit/risk ratio at market approval

On December 20, 2020, the UK was the first country to approve the Vaxzevria vaccine. A month later, the EMA approved Vaxzevria for the EU market. It’s important to realize that in the UK the MHRA began their rolling review process well before approval, and it likely helped that the University of Oxford had been working closely with the MHRA during the vaccine’s development.
